Job Description

Purpose of the Role Responsible product engineer for the assigned product lines. Assist organizations product and technology roadmap. Investigate, select, and drive the development of products for the organization. Activities related to schedule, resource, and cross-functional execution. Availability of right product/right time. Represents product internally and representation of customer. Key Metrics of the Role BOM (Bill of material) set-up in ERP system within 48 hrs Compliance to the availability of drawings in document management portal. Adherence to project timeline for the NPD/Lite projects. Ensuring FTR (First time right) on the product design. Innovations in functional as well as cost-optimized design solutions. Key Deliverables Take lead in the design reviews in the product development process, including the understanding of customer requirements and mapping to CTQ (critical to quality) design features. Work closely with CFT (cross-functional team) to. scrutinize design concepts for cost, lead time, quality, standardization, supply assurance, and compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal requirements. Assist the new product development team with rapid prototyping techniques, testing and validation of proto samples. Develop and implement comprehensive test plans to ensure that product meets customer specifications. Work with the manufacturing department to ensure that the product designs are optimized for manufacturability and assembly. Qualification & Experience Bachelors degree in engineering or technology in Mechanical/Electrical stream with 2-5 years post qualification experience. Must have worked in industries related to products dealing with energy and power sector. Knowledge and understanding of product design principles (DFSS, APQP, etc.) Demonstrable proficiency in 2D/3D CAD software is needed. Understand FEA simulation software like Ansys, Nastran, and Comsol etc. Good knowledge of engineering materials, applications, and industry standards
