Job Description

Below are responsibilities of Anchor in addition to having Software Engineer responsibilities. (effort split - 60:40 on development vs below activities)
  • Be knowledgeable of overall product
  • Responsible for product architecture, security, and product engineering.
  • Collaborates with other team members to provide input on best ways to develop the product features/deliverables
  • Acts as an advocate for developing clean, valuable working software.
  • Helps to ensure the team understands how software can best be delivered by leading the team technically to implement the DevOps and SWC practices
  • Ensure code health, raise concerns when necessary
  • Pairing strategy implementation
  • Enable accountability
  • Own and facilitate ceremonies
  • Has the ability to prioritize
  • Champion core values and core practices
  • Lead by example
  • Work closely with PM to enable team to work
  • Creates chores and investigation items, identifies stories to be split up/improved
  • Remove blockers
  • Establish trust
  • Knows the team really well
  • Delegation of tasks and responsibilities
  • Enables team members
  • Go to meetings to provide overall technical input
  • CRUX meetings (UX, first intro to design)
  • Triage
  • Leads technology deliverables such as weekly releases, upgrades, operational excellence
  • Screens candidates for placement onto product management team.
  • Organizes team learning events and ensure knowledge sharing within team
  • Design Launch Solutions (Synchronization, Roll-back)
  • 8+ Experience in developing RESTful endpoints which can handle concurrent requests efficiently (Java)
  • Experience with Spring/Spring Boot and RESTFUL Web services development
  • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Experience developing and deploying to cloud platforms, such as Google Cloud Platform, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Amazon Web Services, and Microsoft Azure
  • Experience in setting up CI/CD pipelines, such as Jenkins, Tekton.
  • Experience working in DevOps or Agile development team
  • Experience with Cloud Monitoring, Splunk, Dynatrace or other monitoring tool to troubleshooting
  • Experience working/setting up clean architecture and adhering to its principles.
  • Passion for learning and willingness to work in a pair programming environment
  • Familiarity with Modern Java Design Patterns
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and manage changing priorities.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Engineer high-quality reusable code to develop the dynamic user interface for various platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative when solving unexpected problems.
  • Software developer responsible for all elements of software development with end-to-end accountability.
  • Selects architecture direction with input from the architect/Super Anchor
  • Actively manages the long-term delivery roadmap of the software product
  • Guides and coaches other software engineers on product teams.
  • Develops software, often with a paired partner, to deliver user stories that contribute to a valuable working software product.
  • Develops automated tests with working software, to confirm software functionality, user story acceptance, and to detect regression defects.
  • Improves continuous integration tooling by automating manual processes within the delivery pipeline and improving quality gates based on past learnings.
  • Reviews ongoing production software operations and troubleshoots production issues.
  • Implements tooling that monitors application performance metrics and automatically notifies team when a failure occurs in production.
  • Performs exploratory testing to confirm application execution and to identify software deficiencies not covered by automated testing.
  • Actively participates in all team Agile ceremonies.
  • Screens candidates for placement onto product teams.
  • Organizes team learning events
  • Production support for the critical applications services
