Consultant Gastroenterology @ Fortis

Job Description

• Conduct comprehensive consultations and assessments of patients with gastrointestinal symptoms, medical histories, and diagnostic test results to establish accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Provide evidence-based medical care and treatment interventions for a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders, including inflammatory bowel disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), liver disease, pancreatic disorders, and gastrointestinal cancers.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), as indicated for patient evaluation and management.
• Interpret diagnostic test results, imaging studies, and laboratory findings to formulate appropriate management strategies, including medication therapy, dietary recommendations, and lifestyle modifications.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians, surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, and nutritionists, to coordinate patient care, facilitate referrals, and optimize treatment outcomes.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and tumor boards to discuss complex cases, review treatment plans, and develop integrated care plans for patients with gastrointestinal cancers and complex conditions.
• Provide patient education and counseling regarding their gastrointestinal conditions, treatment options, medication adherence, symptom management, and preventive health measures.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters, assessments, treatment plans, and clinical progress notes in electronic medical records (EMR) or other designated systems.
