Senior Software Engineer @ MSys Technologies

Job Description

• MySQL Database Administrator (DBA)We are looking for an experienced MySQL Database Administrator (DBA) with over5 years of experience, including hands-on expertise in managing databases in anAWS cloud environment
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability,security, and scalability of MySQL database clusters while optimizing databaseoperations and supporting business requirements
• A key responsibility of this role will be planning and executing MySQL upgrades tomaintain system security, performance, and compatibility
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using tools like AWS CloudFormation, HashiCorp Terraform, Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, or similar to provision, configure, and manage database environments
• Required Skills Experience: 5+ years of experience in MySQL database administration
• Strong knowledge of AWS RDS and Aurora
• Experience in MySQL upgrades and migration strategies with minimaldowntime
• Hands-on experience with MySQL replication (Master-Slave, Master-Master,Multi-AZ Replication)
• Expertise in performance tuning, slow query analysis, and indexing strategies
• Proficiency in backup and recovery solutions and AWS Backup
• Knowledge of SQL, stored procedures, triggers, and database design bestpractices
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana , AWSCloudWatch
• Good understanding of IAM roles, KMS encryption, and security bestpractices in AWS
• Hands-on experience with database migrations, including on-premise to AWSRDS/Aurora migration
• Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving database-relatedperformance issues
