Job Description
: The Network Engineer - II is responsible for the management, operational support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Russell Investments LAN, WAN, and Telephony infrastructure. You will partner with leadership in Seattle, WA. Technical knowledge and experience with enterprise routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, VPN, and Wireless Controllers are a must. Years Of Experience 5 years of demonstrated hands on experience understanding and integrating existing systems and technologies around enterprise voice and data networks, preferably with Cisco, F5, and Palo Alto products. 3 years of demonstrated experience in working with service providers, consultants, and carriers Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Business, or Engineering. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of education. Must have a current CCNA certification Technology subject matter expertise in Network and Telecom areas with the ability to recognize trends Candidate Requirements Technical knowledge and experience in routing and switching protocols including TCP/IP, STP, OMP, BGP, TLS/DTLS, MPLS, SD-WAN, and fundamental understanding of network design Responsibilities Support the operations, troubleshooting, and implementation of all network infrastructure Monitor service level and performance of network devices and circuits Incident troubleshooting, escalation, and facilitation Perform hardware upgrades, replacements, and firmware patching Ability to obtain packet captures on Cisco IOS-XE/Nexus switches and Palo Alto devices Participate in internal IT service, change, and request management processes Ability to work with Cisco and Palo Alto TAC to create and troubleshoot network issues Provide detailed technical instruction to service provider technicians Responsible for monitoring and tools management (e.g. Cisco DNA Center, SolarWinds, etc.) Experience with Panorama and Firepower Management Center Maintain detailed documentation and inventory of all managed environments Responsible for timely on-call response to incidents Participate in other IT projects and/or tasks as needed Core Values Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication and collaboration skills with all levels of management Strong organizational skills including the ability to adapt to shifting priorities and meet frequent deadlines, Demonstrated proactive approach to problem-solving with strong judgment and decision-making capability.
