Team Overview
Join our EquiLend Spire team as an Engineering Manager in Pune. We see this role as being one of the most senior colleagues in the Pune office, you will spearhead our engineering efforts, driving growth and setting new standards in software development for your team. You will have the opportunity to be a hands on leader in the FinTech space as part of a global company.
In this Role, Your Mission Will Be:
- To use your robust technical knowledge and leadership abilities to cultivate a thriving office environment and motivate your team towards achieving milestones.
- To serve as the main software engineering contact in Pune, overseeing a talented team of software engineers. Your leadership will be pivotal in expanding our development team and enhancing our product's success on a global scale.
- To report to the Development Manager (based in Chandigarh) and coordinate with the wider team in Chandigarh, ensuring seamless software delivery and best practices across locations.
Role Responsibilities
- Directly manage and mentor the Pune software engineering team, comprising 5 developers with plans to increase this number, ensuring their professional and personal growth.
- Act as a key contributor in strategic planning and execution, leveraging technologies such as Java, REST APIs, microservices, and PostgreSQL/Oracle.
- Champion the integration of new ideas and best practices, collaborating with teams across Pune to enhance our software development lifecycle and overall office efficiency.
- Oversee software development projects from conception to delivery, emphasizing quality, efficiency, and adherence to timelines.
- Cultivate a culture of excellence and collaboration within the Pune office, becoming the go-to person for conflict resolution and team cohesion.
- Efficiently allocate tasks and resources, ensuring optimal productivity and project success while supporting the broader team of 14 in Pune, encompassing QA and other roles, in maintaining an effective and harmonious work environment.
Required Skills
- 7+ years commercial experience in software engineering, with a proven track record in technical leadership and team development.
- At least 2 years of direct leadership experience, with the ability to mentor software engineers and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Expertise in Java, REST APIs, Microservices, PostgreSQL/Oracle, with a commitment to leveraging these technologies and being hands on when needed.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the capacity to create a positive, collaborative work environment and align team efforts with corporate objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to oversee complex software projects, ensuring excellence in quality, efficiency, and timely delivery.
- A problem-solver at heart, with a history of implementing process improvements to boost team efficiency and effectiveness.
- The capability to set high standards within the office, influencing others and leading by example to achieve collective goals.
Role Location Benefits
- Hybrid working - 50 days per annum to work remotely (around 4 days per week in our Aundh office)
