Job Description

  • We are seeking a skilled Field Support Engineer to join our dynamic team
  • The Field Support Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support for all computer systems and associated equipment at the Client Location
  • They will also need to provide end-user support and troubleshooting to permanent staff as well as visitors
  • The role will ensure that all incidents are analysed, resolved, and reported back within the promised timeframes
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide Customer with an overview of installation activity, site-specific information and access to appropriate contacts.
  • Handle Customer-relation problems promptly and appropriately, provide guidance, and escalate issues according to established procedures.
  • Use proactive monitoring procedures/tools to identify problem-prevention opportunities.
  • Provide technical support to clients before, during and after events. Serve as a technical consultant to clients and staff.
  • Act as subject matter expert in the technical support field
  • Provide in-depth Break/Fix maintenance
  • Maintain robust maintenance logs
  • Input data for metrics tracking including daily work ticketing system
  • Serve as contact between customers, vendors, and internal staff for day-to-day event operations
  • Provide statistics and track services provided
  • Foster working relationships with all service-related vendors. (internal and external)
  • Ensure appropriate paperwork flow and work assignment
  • Establish new processes and guidelines for maintaining support
Applicable experience.
  • Working experience in supporting customers PC environment with an interest in learning more
  • Minimum 4-6 years of working experience in related fields
  • PC software functions
  • Networking interfaces
  • Advanced Troubleshooting skills
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Ability to configure, evaluate, upgrade, repair, test and troubleshoot laptops and desktops quickly under pressure.
  • Thorough knowledge of administrative or technical practices and should be Proficient in Field Technical Support skill set.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Teams and computer peripherals, like printers and scanners
  • Hands-on experience with networking and all supported operating system platforms (i.e. Windows 10,11, Mac, etc.)
  • Knowledge of anti-virus programs
  • Ability to perform remote troubleshooting.
  • Installing and upgrading operating systems and computer software.
  • Troubleshooting networking and connection issues.
  • Knowledge of systems architecture, database management systems, and network and systems management systems
  • Capable of creating and maintaining documents and tracking logs, conducting preventive maintenance and enhancing the overall activities for conference rooms and shared spaces technology equipment and systems.
  • Process management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Perform maintenance repair and system overhauls as a matter of routine (like modular swaps and unit replacements). You ll surely always be on the lookout for preventative measures you can take to correct all technical problems before they happen.
