EDI L3 Support Engineer

Job Summary:

The EDI Level 3 Support Engineer is responsible for providing technical support and expertise in Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems. This position involves resolving complex issues, implementing strategic solutions, and serving as a subject matter expert for the EDI support team. The EDI L3 Support Engineer collaborates with various stakeholders to ensure the highest level of performance, reliability, and efficiency in EDI operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshooting:
    • Investigate and resolve escalated and complex EDI issues, identifying root causes and implementing long-term solutions.
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to Level 1 and Level 2 support engineers in complex problem resolution.
  • System Optimization:
    • Proactively identify opportunities to optimize EDI systems for performance, scalability, and reliability.
    • Collaborate with development teams to enhance system functionality and address performance bottlenecks.
  • Incident Management:
    • Manage and coordinate the resolution of critical and high-impact incidents, ensuring timely and effective response.
    • Conduct post-incident reviews and recommend preventive measures to reduce the likelihood of future incidents.
  • Documentation and Training:
    • Maintain and update comprehensive documentation for advanced troubleshooting procedures and solutions.
    • Provide training to junior support engineers, ensuring a high level of expertise within the team.
  • Collaboration with Development:
    • Collaborate with software developers to address complex integration issues, enhance existing features, and contribute to the development of new EDI functionalities.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Implement and oversee quality assurance processes for EDI transactions, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.
    • Conduct regular audits to identify and address data integrity and security concerns.
  • Continuous Learning:
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in EDI standards.
    • Propose and implement innovative solutions to improve overall EDI system efficiency.
  • Availability
    • Be part of the 24/7 rotational shift and on-call support

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in EDI support, with a focus on Level 3 support and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in EDI standards such as ANSI X12, EDIFACT, and communication protocols like AS2, FTP, and SFTP.
  • Strong understanding of EDI mapping and translation tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex issues.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The role of an EDI Level 3 Support Engineer is vital in maintaining the stability, efficiency, and continuous improvement of EDI systems within an organization.
