What's this role about?
As a BI Business Analyst, you will be the bridge between business stakeholders and the BI team, collaborating to understand business needs, define data requirements, and ensure the successful delivery of BI solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, BI developers, and business users, to identify opportunities and insights that drive business growth.
Here's how you'll contribute:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and understand their BI and reporting requirements.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of business processes, data flows, and user needs to define clear and actionable data requirements.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications for BI reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.
- Work with data engineers and BI developers to ensure that data sources are accurate, accessible, and aligned with business needs.
- Analyze and validate data to ensure data integrity, consistency, and reliability for reporting and analysis purposes.
- Develop and maintain data definitions, data dictionaries, and business glossaries to promote data understanding across the organization.
- Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities in data and provide actionable insights to business stakeholders.
- Collaborate with BI developers to conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and validate the accuracy of BI solutions.
- Provide training and support to business users to help them effectively navigate and utilize BI reports and dashboards.
- Continuously monitor BI solutions and gather feedback from users to identify areas for improvement.
- Stay updated with the latest BI trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance data analysis capabilities.
Skills required to contribute:
Hands-on (Must have) 10+ years of working experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Business Intelligence or Data Analyst, with a focus on translating business needs into BI solutions.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis, data manipulation, and data visualization.
- Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, QlikView, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with data modeling concepts and data visualization best practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented and able to work with complex data sets to extract meaningful insights.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of SQL or other query languages for data retrieval is advantageous
