Job Title: Assistant Manager - Purchase Job Summary: We are seeking a qualified and experienced Assistant Manager of Purchase to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in our procurement process, contributing to the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of our operations. The Assistant Manager of Purchase will be responsible for procurement activities and sourcing vendors for the company. The role includes managing vendor relationships, conducting cost analysis, and ensuring timely delivery of goods. Responsibilities: 1. Vendor Management: - Identify, assess, and develop relationships with potential vendors and suppliers. - Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure advantageous agreements. - Analyze and assess supplier capabilities, performance, and compliance to ensure quality and reliability. 2. Procurement Strategy: - Contribute to the development and implementation of the organization's procurement strategy. - Analyze market trends. to ensure the organization remains competitive in terms of pricing and product quality. 3. Sourcing and Purchasing: - Oversee the entire procurement process, from identifying needs to placing orders and receiving goods. - Work closely with internal departments to understand their purchasing requirements. 4. Contract Management: - Draft and review procurement contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational standards. - Monitor contract performance and address any issues that may arise during the contract period. 5. Cost Management: - Identify cost-saving opportunities and negotiate favorable terms and pricing with suppliers. - Implement cost-effective measures without compromising the quality of goods and services. - Analyze and report on cost variances and trends to senior management. - Monitor market trends and implement strategies to mitigate potential cost increases. 6. Compliance and Risk Management: - Ensure that all procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards. - Identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain. Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. - Proven experience of 5-10 years in procurement and vendor management. - Strong analytical skills with knowledge in cost control, inventory management, and quality management system - Effective communication skills in a multi-cultural work environment - Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to close deals in a challenging environment - Ability to liaise with vendors/suppliers and manage vendor contracts. - Knowledge of procurement regulations and best practices. - Ability to analyze data and market trends. - Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Preferred Skills: - Experience with ERP and procurement software and systems. - Familiarity with industry-specific procurement needs.
