Responsibilities:
The Post Production Supervisor is responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of the post-production process to deliver high-quality audio-visual content within specified timelines and budget constraints. The duties typically encompass Budgeting, Staffing, and workflow management through the following departments: Production, Picture editorial, Sound editorial, Sound mixing, Music (composition, supervision, editorial, and licensing), VFX, Graphics and titles and Online Processes (DI/Color/Finishing/Deliverables).'
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management: Develop and maintain a detailed post-production schedule, ensuring all tasks are completed on time.
Collaborate with producers, directors, and other key stakeholders to understand project goals and requirements.
Track and manage post-production budgets, making cost-effective decisions while maintaining high-quality standards. Assist Head of Production with planning for future projects and technical innovations to help foster greater creative flexibility and efficiency.'
Team Coordination: Supervise and coordinate the work of post-production teams, including editors, sound designers, visual effects artists, and colorists.
Foster effective communication and collaboration among team members to streamline the post-production workflow.
Technical Oversight: Oversee technical aspects of the post-production process, ensuring all equipment and software are up-to-date and functioning properly.
Address any technical issues that may arise during the editing, sound design, and visual effects phases.
Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure that the final product meets industry standards and client expectations. Review drafts and provide constructive feedback to ensure the desired creative vision is achieved.
Client Relations: Act as a liaison between the production team and clients, providing updates on the progress of the post-production process and addressing any client concerns. Ensure client feedback is incorporated into the final product as needed.
Staffing: Help hire staff for the edit, like Sound Editors and Titles Designers. Work closely with the Production Accountant, supplying accurate information for the cost reports.
Delivery and Distribution: Coordinate the delivery of the final product to clients or distribution platforms.
Stay informed about industry standards, formats, and delivery specifications.
Budgeting: Analyze budgets to determine if the proposed budget will support all post productions and delivery needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Film, Media Production, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Post Production Supervisor in the film or television industry.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Technical proficiency in post-production software and equipment.
- Familiarity with industry trends, formats, and delivery requirements.
