Job Title: Deputy Manager Project Execution (Rooftop Solar)
Department: Projects / Engineering
Location: Lucknow
Reporting To: Project Manager / Head Projects
Experience Required: 710 years in rooftop solar project execution
Job Summary:
The Deputy Manager Project Execution will be responsible for end-to-end execution of rooftop solar projects (both RESCO and CAPEX models), ensuring timely delivery, quality standards, site coordination, vendor management, and client satisfaction. The role demands strong technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to handle multiple sites simultaneously.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning & Coordination:
- Assist in site surveys, load assessments, and feasibility analysis.
- Develop execution schedules and micro-level project timelines for each site.
- Coordinate with design and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of drawings and materials.
- Plan site execution in line with project deadlines and client requirements.
2. Site Execution Management:
- Supervise rooftop solar installation activities (mechanical, civil, and electrical works).
- Ensure adherence to installation standards, safety norms, and engineering designs.
- Monitor and control daily site activities across multiple project locations.
- Ensure timely completion of structure erection, module installation, cabling, earthing, inverter and LT panel installation, etc.
3. Vendor & Contractor Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors and contractors.
- Track contractor performance and ensure adherence to project scope and timelines.
- Verify and certify vendor bills against work completion and quality.
4. Resource & Material Management:
- Coordinate delivery and logistics of project materials to site.
- Maintain site-wise inventory, prevent material loss/wastage, and manage GRNs.
- Liaise with the procurement team to ensure critical components arrive as per schedule.
5. Quality Control & Safety:
- Conduct quality checks as per project checklist and standard protocols.
- Maintain all site safety procedures, PPE usage, and EHS guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with statutory codes (e.g., CEA, CEIG, DISCOM).
6. Testing, Commissioning & Handover:
- Coordinate testing and pre-commissioning activities (IR, continuity, inverter settings, etc.).
- Liaise with DISCOMs for net-metering and synchronization approvals.
- Prepare and submit commissioning reports and project documentation.
- Ensure smooth project handover to O&M team and client satisfaction.
7. Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain DPRs (Daily Progress Reports), MIS, and project status trackers.
- Document project learnings, site challenges, and engineering deviations.
- Report regularly to the senior management on project status, delays, and risks.
8. Client & Stakeholder Coordination:
- Attend client meetings, share progress reports, and manage expectations.
- Address on-site issues, technical queries, and design conflicts proactively.
- Ensure excellent client relationship and experience during execution phase.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical or equivalent.
Experience:
- 58 years of experience in rooftop solar project execution (at least 2 years in RESCO model execution preferred).
- Experience in handling both industrial and commercial rooftop projects (5 kW to 1 MW+ scale).
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of solar PV design basics, SLDs, structural layout, and electrical components.
- Familiar with tools like AutoCAD, MS Project/Primavera, MS Excel, Google Sheets.
- Understanding of regulatory approvals, CEIG/DISCOM procedures.
Soft Skills:
- Strong project management and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
- Willingness to travel and work at project sites as needed.
