Job Description
- Develop, extend and maintain software products in an innovative and iteratively growing environment
- Software design and review
- Software development of application or system components
- Unit testing of developed code
- Investigation and root cause analysis of software and system defects
- Maintain and run tools and processes that support and automate software product release
- Understand the technical aspects of the products used to support the configuration management activities of the development process
- Adapt configuration management tools for the complex needs of the development teams or the management of the development process
- Publish release packages and records
- Deploy the development artifacts to a staging area for release to production; enforce process compliance
- Create and execute approved test plans and analyzes and report results
- Collaborate in a team environment across multiple research and engineering disciplines and make architectural tradeoffs required to rapidly deliver software solution
- Innovate, publish, and patent
- A BS or MS in Computer Science or related field
- 7+ years of programming experience in Java, Python, and JavaScript.
- 3+ years of working experience with AWS services (EC2, SNS, SQS, S3, EMR, Data Pipeline, VPC and etc.)
- Development experience in Web Services (RESTful, SOAP)
- Development experience with web application frameworks - Spring /Spring Boot/AngularJS
- Experience with Apache Spark/Big Data
- Development experience with Kubernetes
- Excellent written and oral communication/English language skills
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Management Information Systems
- Proficient in a Configuration Management tool (e.g., GIT, Subversion or CVS)
- Knowledge of agile development techniques such as TDD, Pair Programming, Refactoring, Continuous Integration
- Must be a team player with the ability to work within a dynamic team environment
- Proven ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Creative, resourceful, and innovative problem solver
- Self-taught and self-teaching, with a demonstrated aptitude for acquiring knowledge and skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Development experience with GIS data
- Development experience with NoSQL (i.e. DynamoDB, MongoDB)
- Experience with relational databases, PostgreSQL/GIS
- Development experience with Scala
- Development experience with Docker
