Master Mariner @ Needs Ayurveda

Job Description

The master mariner must be aware of all the risks and hazards that could potentially arise on the ship. This includes being aware of the weather conditions, the state of the sea, and the status of the ship's equipment. The captain must also be aware of any potential hazards related to the cargo being carried on-board the ship. This could include hazardous chemicals, flammable materials, or other dangerous substances.

In order to ensure the safety of everyone on-board, the ship captain must have a good understanding of all safety protocols and procedures. This includes knowing how to operate all safety equipment on the ship, such as lifeboats, fire extinguishers, and emergency communication systems. The captain must also ensure that all crew members are trained to follow these protocols and procedures.

In addition to following established safety protocols, the ship captain must be capable of making quick decisions in the event of an emergency. This includes assessing the situation, making a decision on how to proceed, and communicating that decision to the crew. The captain must be able to remain calm under pressure and provide clear direction to the crew in order to minimize the risk of injury or loss of life.

It is also the responsibility of the ship captain to ensure that the ship is adequately equipped with safety equipment and supplies. This includes life rafts, life jackets, fire extinguishers, and other safety equipment. The captain must also ensure that all safety equipment is properly maintained and in good working order.
