Who Youll Work With The DevOps team at Cisco is a fast-paced group that is working to modernize and evolve development workflows in Cisco with modern, cloud-native tools and processes. A small team of motivated engineers who embrace new technologies, both vendor supported and open source tools and frameworks. The team is fun loving, supportive of their peers, and operate in a truly agile fashion with daily scrums and sprint/release planning, all with a "customers come first" demeanor. They are responsible for services providing build, artifact, code quality and source code management in a common development platform to provide Cisco developers with the best service, support, and experience possible. What Youll Do Professionally communicate with internal customers/users via email, Webex sessions, and track/update information in case tracking software Prioritize and escalate problems to experienced technicians, collaborating with our operations lead and on-call engineer to. investigate operational issues impacting users and identify root causes Work with software vendors to gather and provide data for them to assist with root cause analysis. Improve monitoring/log analysis systems for earlier detection of potential operational issues Support automation development using configuration management tools and scripts to address operational incidents Demonstrate knowledge of Cisco policies for build environment security and their application to our DevOps tools Who you Are The Engineering IT DevOps as a Service (EDaaS) team is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to contribute to the automation and support of Ciscos Build Environment Security (BES) initiative across our continuous integration build infrastructure and services. EDaaS is a fast-paced group at the center of enhancing and securing Cisco Engineerings development workflows. To succeed in this role, you should be self-motivated to accelerate IT processes and replace manual tasks with automation. You should also be excited about being part of an innovative and continually learning development and operations team. Your operations support expertise and ability to identify and address customer security gaps will be essential for this role. Minimum Requirements Bachelors degree in computer science or software engineering or equivalent experience 5 plus years of software development experience Proficient in Linux/Unix systems administration Demonstrated expertise in administration, configuration, and supporting applications in production environments. Scripting with Bash and Python, often interacting with REST APIs Administrative experience with the following Dev and CI tools: Jenkins/GitHub Actions, Artifactory/Nexus, SonarQube, Git/Gerrit, and GitHub/Bitbucket/GitLab Experience with dependency management tools like Ant, Maven, Gradle, Make Production experience creating and using Docker images/containers Understanding of networking (OSI layers, DNS, etc) Communicates effectively both written and verbally Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Experience scaling third-party software to handle traffic beyond the default configurations Well-versed with various industry standard Git workflows Preferred Requirements Expert-level knowledge of administering or applying security best practices to GitHub, Jenkins, or Artifactory is a major plus but not a firm requirement if general DevOps experience is strong Experience developing plugins and/or integrations for Jenkins is a plus Experience using Git LFS for storage of binary data within git repositories Experience with AWS or any cloud technologies Familiarity with LDAP and any modern IdP system or tooling (SAML, OAuth, OIDC) Why Cisco #WeAreCisco, where each person is unique, but we bring our talents to work as a team and make a difference powering an expansive future for all.
