Head - Electronics Hardware Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to lead our Electronics Hardware department. As the Head of Department (HOD), you will be responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the department, ensuring efficient operations and the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget. You will play a key role in driving innovation, fostering a collaborative work environment, and mentoring and developing a team of talented engineers and technicians. Responsibilities: Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Electronics Hardware department, aligning departmental goals with the overall company objectives. Oversee all aspects of the department's operations, including budgeting, resource allocation, project management, and quality control. Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective operations. Lead the recruitment, onboarding, training. and development of the department's staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development. Manage and maintain a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork, collaboration, and open communication. Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and technologies in the electronics hardware industry, identifying and implementing opportunities for innovation and improvement. Collaborate with other departments, such as Engineering, Purchasing, and Sales, to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction. Oversee the maintenance and calibration of equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards. Prepare and present departmental reports to senior management, providing insights into performance, challenges, and opportunities. Qualifications: Bachelor's/ Mater s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 10+ of relevant experience within the electronics hardware industry. Proven track record of successfully managing and leading a team of engineers and technicians. Strong understanding of automotive electronics systems and their integration into vehicles. Strong understanding of electronics hardware principles, design, and manufacturing processes. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively. Proficient in the use of relevant engineering software and tools. Proficient in project management methodologies and tools. Experience with budgeting and financial management is a plus. Strong experience with electronics design tools such as electrical CAD, simulation and testing tools (e.g. LabVIEW, Altium Designer). Proficient with microcontroller/ microprocessor-based circuit design, signal and power integrity, and hardware debugging. Strong knowledge of electronic design industry standard protocols, tools and techniques, as well as strong knowledge of design for manufacturability (DFM). Ability to manage and lead a cross-functional team and collaborate with various business units, third-party vendors and managers. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail. Experience with embedded system designs, memory technologies and PCB layout is a plus.
