We have a school excellence program through which we aim to develop infrastructure, improve educational facilities and work towards sustainable progress in public schools. Through the school excellence program DMart Foundation is impacting more than 90000 children in various Municipal Schools in and around Mumbai. We work with these schools and seek to implement better teaching facilities (such as libraries & science labs) and develop infrastructure (such as toilets and playgrounds) by working with partner organizations. We hope to improve the quality of education and provide children with better education and development opportunities.
About the Role
The primary responsibility of a Liaison Officer involves fostering and maintaining positive relationships to ensure effective communication, collaboration, and coordination between parties. The candidate will have to liaise between various internal and external departments, government Offices, Municipality and local bodies to get necessary permissions, sanction letters, NOC's and approvals for varied tasks.
Job Description
- Collaborates with the Program team and Support staff, develops and manages strategy for strengthening relationships with government officials and increasing their understanding of and support for our interventions.
- Ensure concerns raised by the Program team for any requirements related to infra / upkeep of the Computer Lab and Library are immediately looked into and resolved
- Monthly school visits to verify the infra requirements for the various programs and ensure upkeep of the existing infra set up
- Follow up with vendors for the necessary infra work (Infra, painting, electric, net and pest control related work
- Survey of the new schools for the flagship (computer and Library) programs
- Regular connect with Supervisors, Principals and Vendors to understand their challenges and provide required support
Qualification
- Graduate/ Post Graduate. Masters in Social Work/Sociology/Development Studies would be preferred.
Competencies required
- Self-starter, Self-reliant
- Networking and Building effective relationships.
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills.
- Attention to detail.
Work Experience & Skills
- At least 3 years of progressively responsible, professional experience in government relations required.
- Fluency in English, Hindi and Marathi
- Basic knowledge of MS-Office.
- Project management and planning principles and practices.
- Willingness to travel
