Currently we are looking for the position of Database Engineer 3
The Database Engineer is responsible for providing database services with the overall objective of implementing database solutions using company software and associated database technologies.
- Min 8 Years of relevant experience is required.
- Implement complex database solutions, activities may include general database consulting, executing miscellaneous scripting requests against customer databases coming database migrations and upgrades or building custom reports.
- Investigate and resolve complex customer support issues.
- Maintain advanced proficiency in 3rd party and company specific technology necessary to successfully implement database solutions.
- Conduct database performance analysis with a focus on query efficiency and schema design; apply tools and utilities to identify integrity or performance issues and assist with database support issues when needed.
- Lead in gathering requirements with the appropriate stakeholders to develop a plan and proposal for solution.
- Perform technical analysis on databases and gathering data to implement proper database solution.
- Document specifications or findings and recommendations resulting from database services in a manner consistent with company documentation standards.
- Collaborate with peers and set the standards for high quality and efficient database solution designs to ensure consistency across internal and external documentation.
- Participate in sales activities, including generating proposals and estimates.
- May provide guidance to other team members.
- Operate as a trusted advisor on issues and trends; Provide general consulting services leveraging expertise and significant best practice knowledge.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
- Successful completion of comprehensive performance assessment.
- Strong understanding of relational databases (SQL Server Oracle and Postgres) and industry recognized concepts.
- Experienced writing and debugging complex SQL including stored procedures and functions.
- Familiarity with Erwin Data Modeler.
- Experience working with cloud solutions such as AWS or Azure.
- Performance tuning experience.
- Experience with designing schemas.
- Experience installing and troubleshooting databases on Windows and Linux.
- Foundational knowledge of networks, storage, virtual environments.
- Demonstrated success at reading and writing software documentation from a configuration or user interaction perspective.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong collaborative skills, applied successfully within team as well as with other areas.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage projects independently to completion
- Able to speak or write with ease, clarity and impact, using a communication style appropriate to the subject and the audience.
- Driven to learn and stay current professionally.
- Up to 10% travel time required.
