- 3 - 5 Years 2 Openings Chennai, Trivandrum Role description Hiring Location: Trivandrum, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune Experience Range 4 to 8 years of relevant experience in software testing, specifically focused on mainframe technologies and DB2. Job Title: Mainframe Tester Role Proficiency Performs testing in strict compliance with processes, independently guiding other testers and assisting test leads. Capable of reviewing requirements, designing test cases, executing tests, and reporting outcomes with minimal supervision. Provides mentorship to junior testers and contributes to process improvement. Outcomes & Responsibilities Construct test scenarios and systematic test cases based on customer user stories or requirements. Execute test cases to ensure components/systems meet expectations, standards, and quality benchmarks. Log and track defects; retest after fixes; report productivity data. Estimate time, effort, and dependencies; contribute to test strategy and domain analysis. Support mainframe applications with testing, JCL execution, DB2 handling, and batch process validation. Troubleshoot production issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams (analysts, testers, ops staff). Must Have Skills Strong proficiency in JCL (Job Control Language) and PROCs (Job Procedures) for batch processing. Extensive experience in DB2 including: SQL development Performance tuning Data modeling Solid understanding of batch processing concepts and techniques. Experience in writing and maintaining test scenarios, test cases, and defect tracking. Ability to review user stories, identify testable scenarios, and execute smoke and regression testing. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities. Good to Have Skills Experience with MQ Series for message queuing and integration. Exposure to ENDEVOR for software configuration and release management. Experience using SDSF for job monitoring and management. Working knowledge of QMF for DB2 data analysis. Familiarity with monitoring tools such as INSIGHT or similar for performance analysis. Exposure to CA-DB2 Tools for administration and management. Experience with Performance Testing tools like Load Runner or JMeter. Understanding of Agile methodologies and working in Agile teams. Skills mainframe Testing, JCL, and DB2.
