Job Title: Online Bioinformatics Faculty: Genome Data Analysis and NGS Techniques Company: Calgenetics The California Institute of Genetics (CalGenetics) offers courses in genetics, genomics, artificial intelligence, and bioinformatics-related fields through its Learning Portal and through live Zoom classes. CIG also offers a one-year online diploma and a 5-month certificate program in Introduction to Genetics, Genomics, and Bioinformatics, offering a comprehensive understanding of theoretical and practical skills. Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and motivated online bioinformatics faculty member to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in genome data analysis and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) techniques and will be responsible for developing and teaching online courses, mentoring students, and contributing to the growth of our online bioinformatics program. Key Responsibilities: Design and deliver engaging online courses in. bioinformatics, with a focus on genome data analysis and NGS techniques. Mentor and support students in their online learning experience, providing guidance and feedback on assignments and small research projects. Collaborate with colleagues to develop and improve the online bioinformatics curriculum. Engage in professional development activities to stay current with advances in bioinformatics and online education. Maintain a commitment to student success and academic excellence in the online learning environment. Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related field. Strong background in genome data analysis and next-generation sequencing techniques. Experience in teaching and mentoring students in an online or distance learning environment. Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex concepts through digital platforms. Preferred Qualifications: Postdoctoral experience in bioinformatics or a related field. Experience in developing and teaching online courses. Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals
