Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Database Developer to design, implement, and maintain scalable and high-performance database solutions. The ideal candidate will be proficient in SQL, understand complex data models, and work closely with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Database Design & Development:
Design relational database models, create tables, views, stored procedures, and triggers based on business needs.
- SQL Development:
Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, functions, and scripts for efficient data access and manipulation.
- Performance Tuning:
Monitor database performance, identify slow-running queries, and apply indexing, partitioning, or restructuring as needed.
- Data Integrity & Security:
Ensure data consistency, accuracy, and protection through rigorous validation checks, user access controls, and encryption.
- Database Administration Support:
Assist with routine database maintenance, backup and recovery strategies, version upgrades, and server configurations.
- Collaboration:
Work closely with developers, analysts, and stakeholders to integrate databases into applications and deliver data solutions.
- Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, bugs, and performance concerns in a timely and efficient manner.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong proficiency in SQL and relational database development.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, normalization, and schema design.
- Experience with major DBMS platforms (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle).
- Familiarity with ETL processes, database security practices, and performance optimization techniques.
- Good knowledge of stored procedures, indexing, triggers, and transaction management.
- Problem-solving attitude with excellent analytical and debugging skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with NoSQL databases, cloud-based databases (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL).
- Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and Agile methodologies.
- Exposure to data warehousing and business intelligence tools.
