Job Description
Role & responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop 3D models and 2D drawings using UG NX (Unigraphics) for sheet metal and welded assemblies.
- Create and modify part and assembly designs based on design inputs and engineering standards.
- Interpret and apply GD&T on drawings as per ASME standards.
- Design for manufacturability (DFM) and cost-effectiveness, particularly for sheet metal and welded components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, quality, sourcing) for design validation and feasibility checks.
- Support prototype builds and provide necessary documentation.
- Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis and root cause analysis for design-related issues.
- Ensure timely delivery of design tasks as per project milestones.
Required Skills:
- 8-10 years of relevant experience in CAD design.
- Proficient in UG NX .
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal design, welding processes, and weldment standards.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes, including laser cutting, bending, stamping, and welding.
- Experience with GD&T and engineering drawing standards.
- Familiarity with PLM systems (Teamcenter preferred).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BE/B.Tech in Mechanical/Production/Automobile Engineering.
- Experience in automotive, heavy engineering, or machinery industries.
