Job Title : Head of Engineering Department : To : Chief Executive Officer Job Summary The Head of Engineering will lead our engineering department and provide technical leadership and strategic direction. This role includes overseeing the development and delivering high-quality software products, fostering innovation, and driving continuous improvement. Job Responsibilities Lead the engineering team in developing, releasing, and maintaining software applications aligned with business priorities. Facilitate communication of technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, including investors and potential clients. Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate requirements into scalable solutions. Advocate for and implement agile practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Manage the engineering budget, optimizing resource allocation and technological investments. Oversee recruitment and development of engineering talent, ensuring alignment. with budgetary and organizational goals. Cultivate an engineering culture that values empowerment and technical excellence. Uphold coding, documentation, and testing best practices. Maintain accountability for the development process, product quality, and performance : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 8-12 years of relevant industry experience. 4-5 years in a management role. Adaptable thinker with the capacity to address challenges innovatively. Proven record in leading high-performance teams. In-depth understanding of industry trends and technological advancements. Skilled in architecture validation and high-level design. Proficiency in backend development with Java, MySQL, and Hibernate. Experience in REST API development, testing, and monitoring. DevOps mindset with familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools. Expertise in cloud services such as AWS, GCP, and containerization technologies like Kubernetes and Docker. Ensure compliance of non-functional attributes (stability, security, availability, performance, etc. ) of the product to internal standards.
