LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT JD Confer with clients, engineers, and building architects to understand a project Prepare site plans, specifications, and cost estimates Coordinate the arrangement of existing and proposed land features and structures Prepare graphic representations of proposed plans using computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software Select appropriate materials for use in landscape designs Analyze environmental reports on land conditions, such as drainage and energy usage Inspect landscape work to ensure that it adheres to original plans Seek new work through marketing or by giving presentations Design skills and strong ability to motivate & manage a team of architects and draughtsman Creating innovative designs & presentations Tender documents Construction documents Co-ordination with Clients & Consultants Ability to handle a team of 4-5 people Responsibilities Include: - Design, management, and production of drawings for. projects of different scales and different stages in the design process - Compilation of targeted project research and analysis into text documents and/or design solutions - Preparation of and the ability to give verbal, visual, and oral presentations to clients, municipal staff and boards, community members, etc. - Coordination between clients and consultant teams - Preparation of proposals, contracts, and cost estimates for upcoming projects - Preparation of building permit applications, Site Plan Review, SEQR documentation Required Qualifications: - A professional Landscape Architecture degree - 5+ years of experience in landscape architecture - Demonstrated ability in Site Planning and Design, Design Detail - Strong design and writing skills - Clear communication, organization, and presentation skills - Effective time management ability with attention to detail Required Software Fluency: - AutoCAD to create site, layout, landscape, and detail plan sheets. - Microsoft Word to write professional memos and other documents - Adobe In Design to create presentations, submission packages, documents, etc. -Google Sketch Up to create site models, renderings, animations, etc. - Microsoft Excel to create budget spreadsheets, plant lists, etc. - Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator to create renderings, diagrams, etc
