Linux System Engineer (WFO) @ Shell Info

Job Description

Job Purpose The role is for a position on Extio DevOps team. On a day-to-day basis, they will help ensure Extio clients infrastructure remains up by monitoring and responding to infra issues. They will be responsible owner for the infrastructure (Linux and Middleware) hosted in Client Data centers. Person will work closely with App Support, System Administrator and Region on delivery priorities, delivery quality, and situation management & cost reduction. In addition to service line delivery, person will work as Technical escalation point for Linux and Middleware estate. Responsibilities/ Accountabilities - Linux and Containerize services administration - Monitor infrastructure daily and report any unusual system behavior - Give regular reports on application alerts & failures - Server installation, configuration, Upgrade: OS Patching / Kernel upgrade management - Responsible for overall delivery in coordination with App Support and System Administrator for Linux and. Middleware - Performance tuning on OS level - Candidate will possess strong knowledge of Unix/Linux systems and internals with expertise in managing KVM/libvirt VM infrastructure. - Provides analysis, feedback and actions based on trends, root cause analysis and other reports - Good knowledge of System Administration both theoretical and practical on Linux and Middleware - Knowledge in Security Management by server hardening, Patch Management, Vulnerability fixing - Fair knowledge on ITIL process and Practices - Basic Knowledge on SAN / NAS storage management will have added advantage - Ceph Administration knowledge will be preferred - Container technologies experience - Docker & Kubernetes will be preferred - Hands-on experience with Ansible will be preferred - WILLINGNESS TO WORK IN SHIFTS: 24/7 COVERAGE
