About SMYTTEN Smytten is an online platform for premium products and services that aims to enhance the way aspirational Indians discover, interact with, and purchase premium products and services, making the experience more immersive. Its stated to be Indias first discovery and trial platform that cuts across multiple premium lifestyle categories like Beauty & Grooming products, Health & Hygiene, Wellness, and other facilities. Smytten was founded in August 2015 by Siddhartha Nangia and Swagata Sarangi, both graduates of the Indian School of Business. Swagata in his last stint headed Business Marketing at Google, and Siddhartha, an FMCG veteran, was a Supply Chain Director at Unilever UK before starting up Smytten. As a Category Manager at Smytten, you will be owning and managing sales growth of the Skincare category. Being a fast-paced growing startup, there are no set rules or boundaries that you are limited to at Smytten. You will be the one responsible for sales growth of the skincare category with the goals of branding, pricing & profitability. You will be required to lead the complete campaign funnel from ideation to execution across digital platforms and the internal brand marketing team for in-app assets & visibility for your category & key brands under it. Department: E-commerce Marketing Job Type: FullTime (Work from Office) Location: Bangalore Reporting to: Head of E-commerce Marketing Experience: 4-6 years ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Research and analyze data and market insights for categories Search for insights into consumer needs and wants Plan and implement long-term development strategies for product categories Ensure assortment expansion and availability by working closely with the business development & planning team Strategize positioning of a product category in order to maximize its visibility and consumer engagement in our app/website Collaborate with the marketing team for all campaign ideas, copy, and creative assets Research competitors and suggest appropriate pricing and promotional activities Work with merchandisers and designers to improve catalog quality and find new ways of expanding product categories Align planning and supply chain on category forecasts for product demand trends Manage and track promotional budget SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Previous working experience as a category manager at least for 2-3 years in an online space Expertise and deep knowledge of lifestyle categories like beauty & grooming, fragrances, health & wellness In-depth knowledge of marketing and sales operations and processes Hands-on experience with analyzing data and making forecasts Analytical and critical thinker Creative bent of mind to handhold our in-house team through copy, social media engagement, app/website landing pages, blog posts, catalog improvements, and anything else that you believe will help grow the category Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills Understanding of multiple digital platforms like search, social, ad networks, content destinations, communities, etc Someone who is enthusiastic and loves coming up with new (workable) ideas
