Job Description

We are hiring for Head Structural Engineer for one of the leading airport client: Position: Head Structural Engineer ROles & Resposbilities Design Management Responsible for preparing structural designs for airport infrastructure (terminal & ancillary building) and ensure all the designs and facilities are in compliance with safety & environmental codes and other suitable standards. Calculate load, pressure, stress & strains on the building and develop a suitable structural design for airport infrastructure. Conduct site investigation to determine soil conditions favourable to bear the load on the building and take soil treatment actions. Consider the strength & durability of construction materials and select appropriately. Analyse factors effecting structural design and made adjustments accordingly. Review of all structural designs and modelling submitted by the architects, internal design team and design consultants. Responsible for technical correctness and timely. delivery of the drawings and documents within the prescribed budget. Contribute to the resolution of technical issues on projects and providing technical guidance. Establish design standards and support preparation of scope of works and terms Implement sustainable certificates for the terminal and other facilities (like LEED or equivalent) Define quality standards for materials suggested in the design Delivery of the design to project execution team (handover design to project execution) Assist in the development of contract documentation for tendering, evaluation of tenders, recommendations for award and management during the construction phases of a project. Value Engineering & Site Coordination Ensure solutions provided are practical, within the defined budget and time. Ensure design fulfil program requirements for performance, quality, aesthetics, and budget. Coordinate with internal team to confirm operational aspects and constructability of the project. Conduct site supervision to ensure final design intent and quality are achieved. Stakeholder Management Participate in design review sessions with stakeholders including design team (Internal & External). Ensure the design consultants receive review feedback on cost, constructability and value engineering. Interact with design providers, internal stakeholders and government agencies as required. Ensures all changes to specifications, work scope and drawings are documented and implemented within the required timeline. Compliance Management Ensure all designs are in compliance with all necessary regulatory agencies local, national & International. Coordinate, schedule and assist constructability review to be held simultaneously to assure that all disciplines are coordinated and the drawings are properly cross-referenced. Monitor contractors compliances to all related statutory regulations. Document Management System Ensure preparation, organizing and management of design documents required for the project. Team Management Set teams KRAs & KPIs in line with organizational goals. Work on capability building & succession planning of team members through effective coaching. Provide learning opportunity to the team and engage them meaningfully to get the best out of them
