Electrical design and optimisation for modular carbon capture units. Acting as Electrical Lead on Detailed Design and Fabrication projects Developing electrical deliverables: electrical load list, single line diagrams, cable schedule, cable sizing calculations, electrical MTO and others as required. Participate in multi-discipline project technical reviews including Scope of Work, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and 3D Model. Assist and interface with other disciplines and stakeholders to execute project deliverables. Review electrical deliverables from engineering contractors and coordinate with contractor to resolve technical queries. Assist the Principal I&C Engineer in developing corporate procedures, standards, specifications, and the required design tools for the discipline. Support testing, installation, and commissioning of carbon capture plants Potential for travel to site Requirements Knowledge, Skills and Experience To be successful in this. role you should have a combination of the below knowledge, skills, and experience: Degree qualified for the related discipline. Experience of Electrical Engineering on heavy industry projects (Power, Oil & Gas, Chemical) from concept to start-up. Proven ability for equipment specification and selection and in ensuring compliance from the suppliers. Experience in the design of MV and LV Power distribution systems. Competent in the application, specification and requisitioning of Motor Control Centres, Transformers and UPS equipment. Competent in electrical requirements for Mechanical packages. Competent in the specification of lighting and small power for control room buildings and process skids. Experience in the design of trace heating for industrial piping systems. Knowledge and understanding of UK, EU, IEC, IEEE and US design codes, standards and regulations, including proven experience in the application of BS 7671 and NFPA 70 (NEC). Competent in the use of discipline related software packages such as ETAP or similar. The use of AutoCAD LT for implementation of electrical drawings would also be desirable. Experience in carrying out power system studies to assess load flow, short circuit, motor starting, protection, harmonics and arc flash. High technical fluency with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written. Ability to work effectively in a small, developing, and entrepreneurial organisation; high level of flexibility and adaptability required.
