AMD is looking for an experienced individual to take - up the exciting role of system design, architecture and development, who will front end the development and porting of OS for AMD future platforms and customize them accordingly. This person should also be well versed with OS concepts. This is pre - silicon work and need to get the system working on Simulator and Emulator

Responsibilities

Understand the OS dependencies w.r,t BIOS and know OS internals

Good understanding of Virtualization and IOMMU

Work closely with emulation and hardware team

Scoping, hands - on debugging & resolving multi - disciplinary customer issues

Skills and Experience Requirements

MS, M Tech, BE Computer Science, Computer Engineering/Electronics Engineering

7 - 10 years of system design and development domain expertise

Pre and post silicon bringup

Has a very good understanding is well versed with CPU (X86/ARM) and SOC architecture

Has a good understanding of system BIOS and UEFI.

Thorough understanding of OS internals, preferably on Linux

Should have good knowledge of C/C++ programming

Should have good knowledge of Linux Kernel porting

Hands - on kernel development and device driver

Understanding of PC BIOS internals including APICs, SuperIO, SATA storage devices, USB controllers.

Understanding system Busses (PCI, PCIe, etc)

Comfortable with Jtag or any hardware debuggers.

Should have good knowledge of source control management system (GIT/Perforce/SVN)

Understand software design, architecture, implementation of use cases and test cases, and enable customers in application of this software into their differentiated innovative products

Should understand the testing domain and should help the test team to define use case driven testing

Past experience of working with geographically dispersed teams

Effective collaboration and influencing skills to achieve business goals across teams and organizations

Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills, and interpersonal and teamwork skills

Strong analytical and problem - solving skills

Knowledge of agile development methodologies (e.g. Scrum) will be added advantage
