Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to manage, optimize, and secure our cloud-based data infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Azure data services while ensuring high availability, performance, and cost efficiency. You will collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and security teams to build scalable and reliable data solutions.
Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize Azure data platform services including ADLS Gen2, ADF, Databricks, Key Vault, and Synapse Analytics
- Implement security controls, RBAC, and networking configurations across data platform components
- Design and maintain observability solutions using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics
- Define and track SLIs/SLOs while conducting incident response and post-mortems
- Automate operations through infrastructure as code (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines
- Implement cost optimization strategies and performance tuning for data workloads
- Create disaster recovery plans and ensure business continuity for all data services
- Participate in on-call rotation to support 24/7 availability of critical data systems
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 3 years focused on Azure cloud services
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Key Vault, and Azure Synapse Analytics
- Proficiency in infrastructure as code tools, preferably Terraform
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights
- Knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
- Strong scripting skills with PowerShell, Azure CLI, and Python
- Experience with incident management and on-call rotations
