Job Description

Job Summary:

The Academic Content Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and reviewing high-quality academic content for various programs offered by the university. The role involves collaboration with faculty, subject matter experts, and instructional designers to ensure content aligns with academic standards, curriculum requirements, and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop course materials, lesson plans, assignments, and assessments for undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
  • Ensure content accuracy, consistency, and alignment with learning outcomes and accreditation standards.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and faculty members to gather and validate academic inputs.
  • Design content that supports diverse learning styles, incorporating multimedia, e-learning tools, and interactive components where applicable.
  • Review and revise existing course content for updates, improvements, or compliance needs.
  • Ensure academic integrity, citation standards, and plagiarism-free content.
  • Assist in the development of online learning modules and work closely with the e-learning/IT teams.
  • Stay updated with educational trends, pedagogical best practices, and relevant academic research.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and instructional design processes as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree or PhD in a relevant academic discipline.
  • Minimum 25 years of experience in content writing, academic curriculum development, or instructional design (preferably in higher education).
  • Strong command of academic writing and educational frameworks such as Blooms Taxonomy.
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms (e.g., Moodle, Blackboard) and e-learning tools.
  • Excellent research, writing, and editing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a collaborative environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in developing content for hybrid or online learning environments.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for higher education (e.g., CAA, QAA, NAAC, etc.).
  • Creative and detail-oriented approach to content presentation and instructional strategies.
