Candidate Profile An excellent opportunity has arisen in our India Building Services team for an Associate Electrical Engineer. This is a critical project and technical leadership role which will see you managing a small team of electrical engineers and driving outstanding sustainability outcomes on a range of projects in India and further afield. You'll be part of a wider regional team collaborating closely the diverse ecosystem of specialisms across Buro Happold, ranging from Computational design, Sustainability, Structural Engineering, Faade Engineering, and more. We are looking for a candidate equally comfortable in hands-on technical delivery as they are in commercial management, project leadership and business development. The role of an Associate Electrical Engineer can be very varied, duties will include but are not limited to: Lead the electrical discipline on projects on behalf of the group (operating as Job or Project Leader as appropriate), taking ownership for sustained and productive client relationships. Communicating directly with Clients, offering innovative design solutions and managing expectations. Further developing relationships with existing and new clients including contractors, architects and developers. Preparing technical and financial proposals for new work. Managing workload of engineers and technicians Monitor financial performance of jobs as well as setting up and managing job/project administrative systems, including planning and monitoring job resourcing/expenditure. Undertake project technical/quality reviews and attend design reviews for projects. Undertake site visits as needed for the smooth operation of the project(s). Continually ensuring that practices, policies, strategy and services represent the clients best interests and that BuroHappold policy is in keeping with current legislation, Indian Standards and Codes of Practice. Having a hands-on approach to all technical aspects of this role and being a domain expert to your team. Embracing technologies to improve performance and sustainability to meet to net zero targets by 2030. Ensuring projects are carried out to an excellent standard, within agreed deadlines and budget. Actively engage with colleagues across disciplines, in group discussions and at events and seminars. Autonomously represents Buro Happold to clients, architects and collaborators. As an experienced Associate Electrical Engineer, we would expect that you will be able to demonstrate: An enthusiasm for delivering simple effective solutions to solve complex problems. Proven ability to manage a team. A respected designer of electrical engineering systems with experience across a broad range of sectors The ability to accept a high degree of responsibility for project technical and financial performance. Strong interpersonal and organisational skills, able to develop relationships with clients, architects and other team members. Although electrically biased it is expected that you will have a good understanding of other design disciplines. Client facing experience as well as experience. Domain expertise in codes and standards in your field. Being that Mentor you wanted to have / had when you were a Junior Engineer. A Bachelors degree BEng/BSc or Masters degree MEng/MSc in a relevant discipline. Responsibilities and Accountability About the role. This role will see you technically and creatively challenged on some of the most interesting developments in India and further afield. Teamwork and a collaborative approach are key to any project at BuroHappold, so your strong communication skills and passion to succeed with others will serve you well. What design work will I be doing You will be expected to have a hands-on approach to formulating and guiding the overarching Electrical Design Strategies for your projects typically in the Residential, Commercial and Hospitality sectors and leading a team of Engineers and Technicians to deliver outcomes. You will be collaborating with your Peers in other Disciplines to ensure cross discipline co-ordinated strategies. You will be expected to keep your domain knowledge new and current Standards and Trends in the market. You will be expected to be able to filter these trends and interpret these codes to delivery to give meaningful outcomes to your team and clients. Keeping your Team informed of important and relevant service/design decisions taken on your Projects and briefing our Leadership Teams on how they align with the Project Scope and Objectives.
