Job Description
The candidate would be leading STIBO Product Information Management Application which focuses on the Item and Location Modules. This role requires an in-depth technical and great interpersonal skills to partner closely with key stakeholders across the line of business and technology teams to balance production stability with customer first focus. The candidate will also leverage previous production support experience to identify and engineer solutions for chronic issues and automation initiatives that reduce repetitive labor in the environment.
In addition, the candidate will showcase technical leadership to build automation and reliability engineering capabilities across all our systems and applications. The role will help build operational dashboards and proactive/predictive monitoring capabilities and to improve our operational efficiency through automation. In the initial stage the candidate will be involved with the Engineering team to understand the STIBO PIM solution being developed and add valuable inputs wearing the ESRE lens. Once the product is live in production, candidate will play a key role in ensuring the stability of the application and scaling up the team as well.
What will you do
- Lead STIBO PIM primarily with focus on ensuring a robust alerting/monitoring exists for the new application going live and ensuring the stability of the application
- Collaborate with cross-functional team and partnered with business stakeholders, IT leadership, internal teams, 3rd party vendors to ensure business continuity and stability of the Merchandising and related peripheral applications functionalities e.g., Merchandising, Pricing, Content Management and Inventory management
- Manage day to day support operations, prioritization, assignment, scheduling, training, career development, knowledge management, etc. and ensure we are meeting our customer Service Level Agreements (SLA)
- Lead 3rd level application support design, reviews, as-is process documentation, functional flows, functional testing, and timely updates to stakeholders through ticket systems, JIRAs, Confluence, emails.
- Participate and contribute as SME in the product design, solution design, deployment, business reviews, 3rd part vendor tools assessments discussions.
- Develop and maintain a strong and real-time feedback loop with the development teams to alert and implement on issues that could be avoided through better design, coding or monitoring
- Build operational and business health monitoring tools to help production support teams in their day-to-day activities
- Apply technology and automation to improve monitoring, alerting and issue resolution
- Build strong teams to have well-defined procedures, SOP s, run books for triage and resolution
- Drive production stability and reliability efforts throughout the year to prepare for peak volume days and key events
- Identify the gaps in monitoring and add necessary alerts such as ELK Watchers, AppD health rules & Nagio.
- Identify and measure the metrics required to monitor the health of Application servers and Kubernetes pods.
- Off hours support in the event of critical production incidents, as needed.
- Ensuring PHI/PII data security and compliance
- Recommending solutions towards stability, maintainability and scalability of the STIBO STEP implementation at Williams Sonoma Inc
What are we looking for
- 5+ Years experience working in Retail industry
- 5+ years experience working in a cross functional team
- 5+ years of Expert technical experience in software development using Java, JavaScript, data and database design, SQL, XML, XSD, JSON, Linux and Web services
- 5+ years of STIBO STEP systems configuration, development, architectural design and integration experience - attribute creation, business rule creation, portal development, integration endpoint configuration and workflow creation.
- In-depth understanding of relational database (Oracle, DB2 or SQL) and ability to write/review complex operational queries.
- Good understanding of API RESTful services
- Capable of defining deployment process and methodologies
- Should have good technical documentation skills. Must also be able to prepare solutions architecture documents and should be able to thoroughly review all the design documents
- Build standards and reusable components as part of customization for new functionality on packaged solution
- Assist the architects in tool evaluations, architectural choices and POCs
- To have deep, intuitive analytical and problem-solving skills to address and resolve technical development issues in a limited timeframe
- Ability to prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast paced and growth-oriented environment.
- Experience to build, evolve and coach teams on technology and process improvements.
