Job Summary : The Oracle L3 Support Engineer is responsible for providing expert-level technical support and troubleshooting for Oracle database and software systems. This role is critical in resolving complex issues, optimizing system performance, ensuring the reliability of Oracle-based applications, and managing database upgrades within our organization. Key Responsibilities Advanced Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve complex technical issues related to Oracle database systems, including performance tuning, database crashes, data corruption, and system errors. Database Administration: Perform database administration tasks, including database installation, configuration, backup and recovery, and database security. Database Upgrade Scope: Plan, coordinate, and execute Oracle database upgrades, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity during the process. This includes compatibility testing, applying patches, and. migrating data as needed. Patch Management: Apply patches and updates to Oracle software and databases, ensuring that the systems are up to date and secure. Performance Optimization: Identify and implement performance enhancements for Oracle systems, such as optimizing SQL queries, tuning database parameters, and improving system resource utilization. Incident Management: Collaborate with L1 and L2 support teams to resolve escalated incidents in a timely manner and provide clear and effective communication to stakeholders. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all support activities, including troubleshooting steps, solutions, and system configurations. Create and update technical documentation as needed. Knowledge Sharing: Mentor and train junior support engineers and share best practices and expertise with the support team. Security Compliance: Ensure Oracle database systems comply with security policies and standards, implementing security measures to protect sensitive data. Vendor Liaison: Communicate with Oracle support and service representatives to open and manage support service requests and obtain assistance for critical issues. Continuous Improvement: Stay current with Oracle technologies and industry best practices, and propose improvements and enhancements to the Oracle environment. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Oracle certification (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional) is highly desirable. Proven experience in Oracle database administration and support, with a focus on troubleshooting, performance optimization, and database upgrades. Strong knowledge of Oracle Database, Oracle RAC, Oracle Exadata, and other Oracle products. Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL. Familiarity with operating systems (e.g., Linux, Unix, Windows) and shell scripting. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Detail-oriented and highly organized.
