Job Description

Job Title: Sous Chef - Indian and Tandoor Cuisine

Location: Mumbai, India

Salary: INR 55,000 (Net) per month

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef specializing in Indian and Tandoor cuisine to join our dynamic culinary team in Mumbai. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in Indian and Tandoor cooking, demonstrating a deep understanding of traditional and contemporary Indian culinary techniques. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate chef who is dedicated to delivering exceptional flavors and elevating the dining experience.

Responsibilities:

1. Menu Development: Collaborate with the Head Chef to create and innovate Indian and Tandoor dishes that align with our restaurant's vision and meet the highest culinary standards.

2. Culinary Execution:Oversee the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring the consistent preparation and presentation of dishes. Demonstrate expert knowledge in Indian and Tandoor cooking techniques.

3. Quality Control: Maintain strict quality control measures to guarantee the freshness, taste, and authenticity of all Indian and Tandoor dishes served.

4. Team Leadership: Lead, train, and motivate the kitchen team to achieve excellence in food preparation and service. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

5. Ordering and Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, conduct regular stock checks, and place orders for ingredients, ensuring optimal kitchen efficiency and minimizing waste.

6. Adherence to Health and Safety Standards: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, HACCP standards, and food hygiene practices in the kitchen.

7. Cost Management:Work closely with the management team to control food costs while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Qualifications:

1. Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Indian and Tandoor cuisine, with a proven track record in a leadership role

2. Culinary Degree: A formal culinary education or equivalent training is preferred.

3. Creativity: Ability to innovate and create new dishes while respecting traditional Indian flavors.

4. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire the kitchen team.

5. Adaptability:Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

6. Passion for Excellence: A passion for delivering exceptional culinary experiences and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
