Job Description
Role & responsibilities
Manage and monitor security infrastructure such as firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA), IDS/IPS, VPNs, and proxy servers.
- Respond to and resolve L2-level network security incidents and service requests.
- Analyze logs and security alerts to identify threats or vulnerabilities.
- Maintain and apply security policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Work closely with L1 teams to support escalation processes and ensure timely resolution.
- Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain network security devices.
- Participate in vulnerability and risk assessments.
- Coordinate with vendors for support and service updates.
Preferred candidate profile
- 3+ years of experience in network or cybersecurity roles, with at least 12 years in an L2 position.
- Strong knowledge of firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA).
- Hands-on experience with IDS/IPS systems, VPNs, and security monitoring tools (e.g., SIEM).
- Understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S, etc.).
- Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards (ISO 27001, NIST, etc.).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications (Optional):
- Certifications such as CCNA Security, Fortinet NSE4, Palo Alto PCNSA/PCNSE, CEH, CompTIA Security+.
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure) and next-gen firewalls.
- Scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation of security tasks.
