Diagnosis and Interpretation: You will be responsible for examining and diagnosing disease conditions by studying cells, tissues, and body fluids under a microscope. This includes interpreting laboratory test results, such as biopsies, Pap smears, and blood samples.
Laboratory Management: You will oversee the functioning of the pathology laboratory, ensuring that equipment is maintained, quality control measures are in place, and appropriate safety protocols are followed.
Research and Teaching: You may be expected to engage in research activities, which can involve conducting studies, publishing papers, and presenting findings at conferences. Additionally, you may have teaching responsibilities, including training and supervising junior residents, medical students, and other healthcare professionals.
Consultations: You will collaborate with other medical specialists, such as surgeons, oncologists, and radiologists, to provide diagnostic consultations and contribute to patient management decisions.
Participation in Clinical Meetings: You may attend interdisciplinary clinical meetings, such as tumor boards, where you contribute your expertise and provide pathological insights on patient cases.
Quality Assurance: You will be responsible for maintaining quality assurance standards within the pathology department, ensuring accuracy and reliability of test results.
