Job Description
Senior LAMP Administrator - Bengaluru - 30 Days Max NP
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior LAMP Administrator to manage and maintain our Linux-based web hosting infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP (LAMP stack), as well as expertise in server performance optimization, security hardening, and troubleshooting complex issues. This role requires a proactive professional who can ensure high availability, scalability, and security of our web applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain Linux servers running Apache, MySQL, and PHP in production and development environments.
- Optimize system performance, troubleshoot server issues, and conduct regular system maintenance.
- Implement and maintain security best practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection, and vulnerability patching.
- Configure and fine-tune Apache and Nginx web servers for high performance and availability.
- Manage MySQL databases, perform tuning, backup, and replication strategies.
- Automate deployment, monitoring, and maintenance tasks using scripting and configuration management tools.
- Collaborate with developers to optimize applications for performance and scalability.
- Monitor system health, troubleshoot outages, and respond to incidents in a timely manner.
- Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience administering LAMP stack environments.
- Expertise in Linux server administration (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL).
- Strong knowledge of Apache, MySQL/MariaDB, and PHP, including performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Experiencewith scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing security measures (SSL/TLS, firewalls, IDS/IPS, security patches).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a proactive approach to system improvements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of caching mechanisms (Redis, Memcached) and load balancers.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Experience managing high-traffic, large-scale web applications.
