We are looking for a highly skilled and proactive Senior Application Support Engineer with strong expertise in Java/J2EE , Unix scripting , RDBMS (DB2, Oracle, Sybase), and job scheduler tools (Autosys, procmon, crontab). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in L2+/L3 production support , with a strong understanding of issue resolution, root cause analysis, and SLA-driven service delivery.
- Provide L2+/L3 level support for Java/J2EE-based enterprise applications.
- Perform incident and problem management with root cause analysis and permanent resolution implementation.
- Write and maintain Unix/Linux shell scripts for automation and operational tasks.
- Monitor and manage batch jobs using tools such as Autosys , procmon , and crontab .
- Analyze logs, track performance issues, and coordinate with development teams for bug fixes and enhancements.
- Troubleshoot database-related issues in DB2, Oracle , and Sybase environments.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and support runbooks.
- Utilize JIRA for ticket management and tracking change requests and incidents.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high availability and reliability of systems.
- Strong hands-on experience in Java/J2EE technologies.
- Advanced knowledge of Unix/Linux and shell scripting .
- Experience working with RDBMS - DB2, Oracle, and Sybase.
- Proficiency in job scheduling and monitoring tools : Autosys, procmon, crontab.
- Solid understanding of production support models , ideally L2+/L3.
- Familiarity with JIRA or similar issue tracking tools.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
- Experience working in 24x7 support environments or on-call rotations.
- Exposure to ITIL processes and support methodologies.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms or DevOps tools is a plus.
- Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
