Job Description
A Logistics Officer is responsible for managing the supply chain, ensuring efficient movement of goods, materials, and resources, and coordinating transportation, inventory, and warehousing. They may be involved in inventory control, monitoring stock levels, and overseeing the movement of incoming and outgoing goods.
Key Responsibilities:
Supply Chain Management:
Overseeing the entire supply chain, from procurement to delivery, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
Inventory Management:
Monitoring stock levels, managing inventory databases, and optimizing inventory to minimize costs and ensure availability.
Transportation and Distribution:
Planning and organizing the movement of goods, including selecting transportation providers, managing shipping routes, and ensuring timely delivery.
Warehousing:
Managing warehouse operations, including storage, receiving, and dispatch of goods, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Procurement:
May be involved in sourcing goods, negotiating with suppliers, and managing contracts.
Compliance:
Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, laws, and safety procedures.
Performance Tracking:
Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the efficiency of the logistics operations and identify areas for improvement.
Coordination:
Working with internal teams, external vendors, and clients to ensure smooth logistics operations.
Problem Solving:
Identifying and resolving issues related to the supply chain, such as lost or damaged shipments.
