JOB OVERVIEW
We are looking for a Java Software Architect with experience in designing and architecting scalable distributed systems preferably in Java and having experience of playing an architect role in a large scale microservice based platform. You will be part of our Core Architect team to define and architect the next generation microservices based platform and help the engineering teams in the implementation. You will also be responsible to prototype the concept and work with Engineering to develop into a product.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and architect flexible and scalable distributed systems
Design and architect cloud-native technologies in the Java ecosystem
Evangelize clean code principles to achieve readable, maintainable and testable code.
Build Infrastructure as Code (IaC) pipelines to deploy microservices on AWS and GCP clouds
Embrace DevOps methodologies through Infrastructure as Code and close collaboration with Operational teams.
Work directly with senior IT groups in an advisory role. Work with management and Architects to create technical strategies and platform roadmap.
Work on messaging systems and deal with terabytes of data.
Engage with Development/Product team to comprehend functional challenges, prototype new ideas, and new technologies and help to create innovative solutions.
Architect products from the ground up in a collaborative environment. Create "wow" factor for end users.
COMPETENCIES
Experience running microservices based solutions in production on AWS, GCP or Azure
Strong hands-on experience in building RESTful micro-services with Netflix OSS/Spring cloud technologies.
Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, EKS, GKE, AKS, Helm,
Monitoring Observability, Distributed Logging, Tracing and Metrics
Good work experience in developing/managing API Gateway platforms (Ex: Apigee, Kong, 3scale, AWS Gateway OR custom)
Hands-on experience in advertisement domain and order management system in general would-be a plus
Good work experience with serverless computing (AWS Lambda, AWS Fargate, Google Cloud Functions)
Hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Gradle/Maven
Working experience in Data / Domain modelling with multiple SQL/NoSQL stores.
Strong hands-on experience in at least one workflow Engine (Camunda, jBPM, or other) - Developing business process models and managing them would be preferred
Strong experience in Kafka (Confluent/Kafka ecosystem) and implementing patterns like CQRS is an added advantage
UX experience with Angular, React, ExtJS library/frameworks as well as AWS CloudFront (CDN) deployment would be a plus
DevOps experience with building Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation
Experience in AWS managed stores (Atlas, ElastiCache, RedShift, DynamoDB, Aurora, RDS, ElasticSearch, S3) would be preferred.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor s or master s degree in computer science or equivalent
8+ years of relevant experience.
