Job Description
Summary of PositionIlluminate is seeking an experienced e-learning developer to create engaging, interactive digital modules and resources. A critical component of Illuminates vision for actionable and accessible professional learning, e-learning content is designed to enable educators to use our solutions in practice. Working closely with the Director of Community Knowledge and other Illuminate Education stakeholders n, an e-Learning Developer will lead the creation and conversion of training content following instructional design best practices, from storyboarding to construction and ongoing refinement.
This is a full time position . Occasional morning and/or evening work hours to collaborate with teammates in the United States.
Primary Responsibilities
Collaborate with Illuminate stakeholders/subject matter experts to determine target audiences needs and performance goals
Assist with designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating e-learning content utilizing SAM methodology for instructional design projects
Create engaging learning activities and compelling content that enhances retention and transfer
Review existing content and modify as necessary to include new material, reflect product or requested changes, increase engagement, and to align to branding requirements
Collaborate with stakeholders/subject matter experts to meet project timelines with quality results
Assist with the development of digital assets that enhance the learning process (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc.)
Upload content to, enroll users in and track training completion via Adobe Captivate Primes Learning Management System (LMS)
Utilize the LMS to store course curriculum, capture program registration, and run reports on attendee completion status.
Assist with training evaluation and analysis of multiple levels of training feedback including satisfaction, knowledge transfer, behavior change and impact on business
Assist other e-Learning Developers and team members by sharing knowledge and skills.
Keep current with trends, best practices, new technologies, and emerging innovations in the learning and development sphere and implement solutions that develop talent.
Maintain workflow, groomed backlog and effectively communicate within Atlassians JIRA project management system.
Perform other related duties and projects as assigned at the discretion of Learning & Development leadership
Requirements
3-5 years experience with adult learning, instructional design, professional development, curriculum development
Bachelors Degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Education or related field preferred.
Experience working in Adobe Captivate and Adobe Captivate Prime
Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Experience modifying video and audio content from Adobe Connect and other video conferencing software.
Ability to insert/delete audio, video, and/or interactive material into/from existing content for a seamless user experience
Ability to utilize storyboards and other descriptive material for purposes of creating e-content
Expertise in design software, particularly (Photoshop,, Adobe Captivate, Vyond/GoAnimate, PowerPoint) and ability to apply instructional design processes such as storyboarding for e-content
Excellent knowledge of adult learning theories and proven working experience in instructional design (SAM design method preferred)
Strong project management skills and ability to work within a project management tool (JIRA)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as an ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities
Ability to work towards clearly defined goals and objectives and to be accountable for progress towards/achievement of the goals.
