Technical Java Lead (GCP) -Java @ UST

Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Java & GCP Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of innovative batch and data processing solutions. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership abilities, and hands-on experience with Java and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor developers, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions.

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of batch and data processing solutions.
• Provide technical direction for Java and GCP-based implementations.
• Mentor and guide a team of developers and engineers.
• Work with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Implement robust testing strategies and optimize performance.
• Maintain technical documentation and ensure compliance with industry standards.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Expertise in Java and its ecosystems.
• Extensive experience with GCP (Google Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, BigQuery).
• 7+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on batch processing and data-driven applications.
• Strong knowledge of secure data handling (PII/PHI).
• Proven ability to write clean, defect-free code.
• 3+ years of leadership experience, mentoring and guiding teams.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
