Job Description
Role Proficiency:
Performs tests in strict compliance independently guides other testers and assists test leads
Outcomes:
- Construct test scenarios based on customer user stories or requirements
- Construct systematic test cases from scenarios for applications based on customer user stories or requirements
- Execute systematic test cases from scenarios for applications based on customer user stories or requirements
- Ensure that new or revised components or systems perform to expectation.
- Ensure meeting of standards; including usability performance reliability or compatibility.
- Document Test results and report defects
- Facilitate changes in processes/practices/procedures based on lessons learned from the engagement
- Develop proficiency of other testers on the project
Measures of Outcomes:
- Timely completion of all tasks
- # of requirement/user story ambiguities logged
- Requirements / User story coverage based on test cases/script
- # of test cases/script developed in comparison to the benchmarks
- # of test cases/script executed in comparison to the benchmarks

Additional Comments:Experienced web automation test engineer with 4+ years in WebDriverIO using typescript with Cucumber framework for transactional workflows; Selenium with Java and TestNG framework for UI testing. An ideal candidate would possess good communication and interpersonal skills. QA Automation Engineer Your Experience You will have relevant experience and a passion for delivering high quality products at speed, be a champion of automation best practice and building a stable product set You must be a self-starter, delivery-focused, detail orientated and possess a broad set of technology skills. Things you will do: - Adhere to automation best practices and champion the value of optimal test automation while being able to identify when a manual solution is preferable - Develop and implement automation frameworks, scripts and associated data suites using appropriate languages and tools - Actively promote easily testable code and contribute to driving maximum test coverage across the delivery teams - Collaborate with the engineering teams to integrate automated testing into the CI/CD pipeline - Drive short, accurate feedback loops with development teams - Provide concise defect reports with appropriate prioritisation from impact to test perspective - Collaborate with Product Owners and analysts to refine and prioritise internal work items on the backlog and provide accurate effort estimates for in-sprint automation and ongoing maintenance effort What you will bring: - Passion for software quality, shift left and shortening of feedback loops - Excellent understanding of software QA, best practices and tools with an emphasis on automation framework design and implementation - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and their integration with automated testing - Experience of TDD [test driven development] - Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps - Experience of cloud environments and building, deploying and testing on these platforms - Experience with non functional test techniques - Good technical and non technical communications skills - Experience of working as part of a Scrum team, driving in sprint test development and exploratory testing - Eagerness to adapt and evolve Technical Skills Required: - At least 3 years demonstrable experience building automation suites and associated data suites for a wide variety of applications including web based - Demonstrably proficient with automation languages and frameworks including Cucumber, TypeScript, Selenium, Java, WebDriverIO and TestNG. - Robust experience integrating with platforms such as ADO, Jenkins and GitHub - Experience with queueing architecture - Experience working with ADO What makes you stand out: - UK Pensions administration domain knowledge and experience - Experience working with geographically dispersed teams and global stakeholders - Ability to provide innovative solutions whilst maintaining quality and speed to market - Experience with every stage of the testing pyramid [unit, integration and end to end testing]
