Job Description
- Vertex Tax System Management: Administer and maintain the Vertex tax software, ensuring accurate configuration and integration with financial systems.
- Tax Code Updates: Monitor and implement changes in tax codes within the Vertex system to ensure compliance with evolving tax regulations. This includes staying informed about tax rate changes and jurisdictional tax data updates.
- Tax Data Analysis: Extract and analyze tax data using SQL to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for tax optimization.
- Compliance and Reporting: Utilize Vertex to prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with all applicable tax regulations and deadlines.
- Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to tax calculations and reporting within the Vertex system.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements to tax data management and reporting processes within Vertex to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with finance, legal, and IT teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of Vertex within broader financial ecosystem.
