Technical Operations/Maintenance Technical Operations includes the maintenance, and overhaul of our aircraft. This includes aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities teams, supply chain teams and more. The Digital Fleet Management (DFM) team plays a vital role in improving the on-time and completion performance of Uniteds network by turning unexpected aircraft system failures into scheduled maintenance. The Engineer of Aircraft Data Management supports DFM, Aircraft Health Monitoring, Engineering and Analytics teams by serving as an aircraft data acquisition and performance analysis engineer. The Engineer creates aircraft software modifications to acquire sensor and performance data in real-time and post-flight for predictive maintenance and health monitoring purposes, partnering with engineering teams to implement software changes as. necessary. They also support creating tools and implementing processes for the ongoing monitoring of data and system health of Aircraft Condition Monitoring System (ACMS), Quick Access Recorder (QAR/DAR) and other e-Enabled system data for airline operational use (including monitoring of ground data transmission and processing systems. Job Overview And Responsibilities Perform analyses of aircraft data acquisition system performance to improve data capture and data transmission reliability Define parameters, format and trigger conditions for when data is acquired and transmitted from aircraft for health monitoring, predictive maintenance and ongoing operations Partner with Data Science and Digital Technology teams to write, validate and deploy ACMS software. Assist SMEs in writing Engineering Authorizations for installing ACMS databases on aircraft as needed Support operational teams responsible for ongoing monitoring of predictive alerts and ensuring maintenance action is taken in advance of operational issues; act as a liaison to frontline teams as required to ensure successful execution of proactive maintenance This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Qualifications Required BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field At least 3 years of in an engineering or data driven role Ability to write, debug and troubleshoot software code Self-starter with the ability to think outside the box to evaluate complex problems and recommend solutions Proven organization skills with ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders and external customers Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with ability to effectively interact with internal and external business partners Preferred Airline experience or operations experience in a similar industry Experience working with aircraft, engine, ground equipment or other asset sensor and fault data Experience authoring ACMS (or equivalent) software Knowledge of reliability engineering principles, root cause analysis or statistics-based reliability Familiarization with preventive maintenance and reliability concepts and implementation Knowledge and understanding of asset/fleet management strategies and maintenance operations Knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical system design in aviation, automotive or similar industries Knowledge of aviation CFR regulations Knowledge of common system analysis or fault tree analysis strategies Proven skills with Python, C or other programming language Equal Opportunity Employer - Minorities/Women/Veterans/Disabled/LGBT GGNhidden_mobile9
