Job Description
Role & responsibilities
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Civil Engineer to join our project execution team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing on-site construction activities, ensuring technical compliance, and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure successful project completion within defined timelines and budgets.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Site Execution & Supervision
- Oversee day-to-day site operations and manage civil construction works as per design and specification.
- Supervise contractors, laborers, and subcontractors to ensure proper workmanship.
- Ensure that all construction activities are carried out as per approved drawings and safety standards.
- Monitor progress and quality of work; perform regular inspections and resolve site issues promptly.
Project Coordination
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
- Maintain project schedules, monitor milestones, and ensure deadlines are met.
- Prepare and update daily/weekly progress reports and escalate delays or bottlenecks.
Technical & Engineering Duties
- Interpret civil drawings, structural plans, and BOQs.
- Assist in preparing cost estimates, quantities, and procurement lists.
- Ensure adherence to relevant codes, standards (IS/IRC), and best engineering practices.
- Recommend technical solutions and suggest material alternatives where necessary.
Billing, Documentation & Reporting
- Assist in quantity surveying, rate analysis, and preparation of bills.
- Maintain site records including work orders, labor deployment, inspection logs, and material stock.
- Document site photographs, checklists, and work completion reports.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Implement quality control measures and conduct material testing (concrete, steel, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Enforce site safety practices and lead toolbox talks with the workforce.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and construction methods.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and basic project management tools.
- Good understanding of RCC detailing, bar bending schedules (BBS), and formwork systems.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelors Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institute.
Preferred Qualifications (Added Advantage)
- Experience in residential/commercial/infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of local municipal regulations and approval procedures.
- Certification in AutoCAD / MS Project / QA/QC (preferred but not mandatory).
