What youll be doing
Verizon Connect has an immediate need for a Data Engineer to join our Global Database Services team. The ideal associate will be a highly competent, results driven as well as a highly self-motivated individual.
This role requires a service oriented mentality, high sense of ownership of the problems and requests assigned, focus on managing and resolving issues in a prompt & efficient manor, establishing and maintaining communication with technology customers to keep them updated with status of their requests, initiating and performing changes on production systems and proactively escalating any issues that cannot be resolved within the established timeframes.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting development teams with the implementation of data stores and adoption of data sharing across various business entities on Redshift.
Supporting other database engineers & developers with upskilling on Redshift.
Reviewing Redshift implementation & identifying performance, design, security & cost improvements.
Review & simplification of the automation process for provisioning of Redshift implementations
Review & enhancing existing monitoring & alerting of Redshift implementations.
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to the following
Owning, tracking and resolving incidents and requests across RedShift platform.
Fulfilling requests and resolving incidents within SLAs.
Responding to database related alerts and escalations and working with database engineering to come up with strategic solutions to recurring problems.
