Job Description
About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Data Architect to join our team and take the lead in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust, scalable, and high-performance data solutions. You will play a strategic role in defining our data strategy, architecture, and governance while working with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement enterprise-grade data architectures (Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, Lakehouses, and Mesh-based systems).
- Develop data models (conceptual, logical, and physical) for structured and unstructured data.
- Lead design of ETL/ELT pipelines, data integration, and ingestion frameworks.
- Optimize cloud storage and compute costs in AWS or Azure.
- Ensure data security, governance, and compliance with regulations like HIPAA and CCPA.
- Integrate and optimize data flows with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and ThoughtSpot.
- Oversee metadata management, data lineage, and master data strategies.
- Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.
- Conduct architecture reviews, design sessions, and provide technical leadership.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 7+ years in data architecture, data engineering, or database design.
- Proven experience with AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, SSIS, AWS Glue).
- Proficiency in SQL, NoSQL, and cloud-native databases.
- Experience with data governance, security frameworks, and compliance.
- Expertise in data modeling, performance tuning, and BI integration.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience implementing Data Mesh principles.
- Exposure to streaming platforms (Kafka, Kinesis, Azure Event Hub).
- Familiarity with multi-cloud or hybrid data environments.
- Certifications such as:
- AWS Certified Data Analytics Specialty
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
- Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer
