Job Description Role Summary: This job takes the lead in providing more complex application development services typically as part of a project team or in an application support role. Developers analyze, design, code, test and implement more complex systematic solutions to meet customer requirements that adhere to Highmark IT standards and policies. Developers provide general support to maintain more complex applications that meet the service levels, system availability, performance and quality levels required by their customers. May mentor less experienced team members. Essential Responsibilities Takes a lead role for analyzing, designing, coding, testing, and implementing more complex application enhancements, as well as providing general production support, meeting defined scope, target dates and budgets with minimal or no defects. Utilizes and participates in the more complex full system development life cycle, per current Highmark SDLC standards. Takes a lead role in. collaborating with customers, business analysts, partners, and IT team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. Concentrates on providing innovative solutions to more complex business needs. Takes a lead role in providing required technical support, including release implementations, on-call and 24x7 supports when necessary. Performs work in compliance with all Highmark and Highmark IT standards, policies, and procedures. Actively takes a leading role and participates on project teams in various project roles, including, but not limited to, Developer, Technical Lead and Project Manager, based upon level of experience. Effectively communicates with team members, customers, partners, and management, including assisting with or conducting more complex technical walkthroughs, reporting project status, enabling vendor solutions and providing accurate and concise documentation. Other duties as assigned or requested. Role Specific Expectations As a Java Architect you will work as part of a team on the design and implementation of Java-based enterprise solutions using Agile software development methodologies and responsible for below activities. Responsible for architecture and design of enterprise applications running on Java/Spring in a cloud hosting and associated components. Be the hands-on Java developer and architect responsible for the technical design, implementation, and maintenance of new and existing features on the site. Improve and create a modern and sophisticated platform using the latest Java & cloud technologies, following industry best practices. Architects lead on full lifecycle projects from requirements gathering through development, implementation, and rollout. Architects have the flexibility to be creative and impact designs with a blank slate development mentality within the general boundaries of clients expectations. Strong proficiency in OOPS concepts with JAVA and knowledge of RESTful APIS Architecture. Design and code for Proof of Concepts with New Functionality/Technology. RDBMS knowledge and/or exposure to IBM DB 2 / Oracle database exposure. Experience in Performance Analysis and applications tuning. Excellent understanding of design patterns and microservice architecture. Hands on experience in Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIP); Exposure with Apache camel or spring integration is considered a plus. Run Application Vulnerability/Penetration Testing using tools like IBM App Scan, Burp Suite and also resolve issues found. Document all Security analysis, improvements and fixes train other developers/qa on Security Tools and Best Practices. Work with Product Management by both listening and responding to business needs advocating for technology strategy. Assist in change and release management protocols. Experience in designing and implementing Rule Engine based applications with Java. Exposure to rule engines like IBM ODM, Redhat DMS, Jboss Drools preferred. Should have experience in designing business model objects based on the business need using any one of the rule engines. Exposure to integrating the rule engines with Cloud native applications preferrably Java based applications. Experience in design and implementing REST API using OpenAPI specification 2.0/3.0 Skillset Java, Spring Boot, REST API, Containers/Docker, IBM ODM/Redhat DMS/JBoss Drools/IBM ILog Cloud (Preferred GCP but non restricted / exposure to AWS or Azure also acceptable) API Management (Axway or Mulesoft or APIGEE), DevOps, CI/CD, Gitlab, Gradle/Maven About Us Thryve Digital Health LLP is an emerging global healthcare partner that delivers strategic innovation, expertise, and flexibility to its healthcare partners.
